West Coast, Best Coast.

As I sit here and think about what to say about this trip to the West Coast, it flashes through my mind. The warm, golden California sun and the smell of pine are etched into my mind. I can hear the crashing of the waves hitting the beach and feel how dry the air is. I could focus on the disaster at the beginning of trip, which caused me to miss the wedding I was supposed to be in, but there's no point.

Day 2: Taft Point Sunset Hike

Sunday was one of my favorite days of my entire trip. I still had not accepted the fact that I missed the wedding the night before, and was still upset about it. Thank goodness Caitlin is such an understanding person, because I'm not sure other people would have. Sunday morning I crawled out of bed around 4:45AM, put on my dress and headed out to Glacier Point with Caitlin and Thad for their sunrise session. Later that afternoon we headed out to Taft Point for sunset, which is one of the best sunsets I have seen in my life.

Day 3: Yosemite National Park, Day 2.

Sunrise over Half Dome is something you just have to see for yourself. Imagine yourself sitting in front of Half Dome, you are freezing, then all of a sudden the sun starts to peek out from behind the mountains. You can instantly feel it's warmth fill every inch of your soul. After saying our goodbyes to Yosemite, Kristen and I headed out to Monterey to continue our adventure down the Pacific Coast Highway.

Day 4: McWay Falls & More of the PCH

Kristen and I really tried our best to beat the fog, but we've discovered that the universe actually hates us. We stopped in Pismo Beach and ate the best ice cream ever. We camped on the beach at Point Mugu, and I was thrilled to finally be able to photograph the Milky Way again.

Day 6: Joshua Tree National Park

I contemplated a lot before actually deciding to drive to Joshua Tree. I wasn't sure what I really wanted to do, but I knew I was exhausted. I am the type of person that will cram as many things as possible into one trip. And that's exactly what I did. After I dropped Kristen off at LAX I headed to Joshua Tree, and I'm glad I actually went. I do not regret that decision at all.

Day 7: Point Dume

I spent my last day on the west coast with the absolute best. Josh and I frolicked around for a while at Point Dume, and sat on the edge of the cliff and watched the waves pound into the shore. I could watch them forever. I had no idea how much I would fall in love with California as much as I did. Shout out to Josh and Abe for letting me crash at their place with open arms. You guys are the best!
