Janie & Brandon were married at the Degas House this past December. I know, I am a little behind on blogging. Better late than never I suppose. These two were so much fun and made my job so easy. This was my first time shooting at the Degas House and it was so easy to fall in love with this quaint little New Orleans venue.
Brandon and I met the summer of 2015 through a mutual friend. I actually saw a picture of him and her at a concert and asked my girl friend who that guy was, and she just shrugged and said, “that’s Brandon. We sometimes go to concerts together, but I think he may he dating someone...I’m not sure.”
We officially met at our mutual friend’s birthday party in June 2015, and he invited me out on his sailboat the following evening. He then promised to take me sailing for my birthday the following month, and the rest is history!
The picture I saw was from the spring, so since I thought he was dating someone, I didn’t dig more into meeting him. But we hit it off sailing and went on a few dates and started dating soon afterwards!
Brandon surprised me with a weekend getaway to NYC! I thought I was supposed to work the Saturday before Memorial Day, so I could actually have Memorial Day off and spend the day with him (not considered a holiday where i work), but he had made arrangements with my coworkers so when i woke up that Saturday to go to work, he surprised me and said, “you’re not going to work today”. I was so confused. I called my boss, and he said, “listen to Brandon. I’ll see you Tuesday!” Brandon proposed at the library bar in the nomad hotel while having pre-dinner cocktails! He said he know how much I loves books and cocktails!
One of the things I remember most was just looking around the venue and seeing people from mine and Brandon’s past present all in the same room!!! It was the coolest thing having the most special people at the same location!! And DANCING!!! DANCING!!!! DANCING!!!! 💃
