I still can’t believe it has been almost two months since we were in Germany! Bavaria was incredible, and I’m so excited to finally be able to share this adventure with you all!

We spent an entire week exploring and I wish we could’ve stayed longer. From the mountains, to the city, the food, the chocolate, and the BEER! Everything was exceptional! The first part of our trip was spent in Garmicsh-Partenkirchen, and from there, we went to Munich. I could’ve stayed in Garmisch the whole week. Just the views alone made my heart flutter. Small mountain towns have my heart and going in mid-November was perfect. A lot of things were closed but we made the absolute best out of it.

When Matthew and I landed in Munich, the capitol of Bavaria, we got our rental car and headed stright to Fussen! Neuschwanstein was so incredible to see in person, even though I don’t have any pictures to show for it. I only took a couple with my camera from the road driving in, but I didn’t love them enough to post them. The hike up to the castle was about an hour in the most miserable cold mist. There is usually a bus that runs up and down, but due to weather conditions, it was not running. After we finished at the castle, we at some schnitzel and made our way to Garmisch.

I loved being able to walk around and not having to go too far from our hotel. We ended up staying at Hotel Konigshof, which was about as central as we could be. We found an Irish pub, ate lots of pizza, pho, and Italian! I still tell Matthew that we could’ve stayed there the whole trip, and I would’ve been content.

My favorite day of our trip was going to Eibsee. Matthew and I did an anniversary session with Aneta Lehotska at sunrise. If you find yourself looking for a photographer out there, do not hesitate to contact her! She was amazing! All morning we played hide and seek with the mountains, which is amazing to see them come out, but you don’t really get the full effect of the Bavarian Alps.

We walked a lot in Munich. Like 8 to 10 miles a day. We had a great time exploring the city. There we a lot of things we didn’t get to do, but I feel like we did enough on our first trip. We explored the Munich Residenz, English Garden, and walked almost every street in the Marienplatz. I think if we would’ve waited one more week to go, we could’ve been there during the Christmas markets!

Bavaria was beautiful, and I will not stop recommending everyone to go here!!
